Offer & Deposit

If you successfully pass the interview, you will receive an offer to join our graduate internships in Singapore. You will then have 5 days to pay the deposit (£450/ $650) and accept the offer.



Once you have accepted the offer, we will begin working on matching you to an employer for an internship and getting  the Work Holiday Visa. This entire process can take 2-4 months.

  • Be a graduate from a university in Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, United Kingdom or United States.
  • You must have been a resident and a full-time student at your university (no distance learning or part-time students permitted)
  • Be able to submit your Work Holiday Pass application online and pick up the pass at the Ministry of Manpower upon arrival in Singapore (our support team will be glad to accompany you and assist you with this in Singapore)
  • Not have completed a Work Holiday Program in Singapore in the last 12 months.

About Singapore

Is English spoken in Singapore?
Yes! English is one of the official languages of Singapore! You will not have to worry about having a language barrier. However, if you do want to learn another language, Singapore has three other official languages: Tamil, Mandarin, and Malay!

What is the work culture like in Singapore?

Are the internships in Singapore paid?
Yes! All of our Singapore internships are paid. The typical pay for the internships will range between S$700- S$2200 per month. The pay is determined by your employer, depending on your education and work history, all of this will be discussed with you before you accept an offer for an internship from an employer.

How long does it take to find an internship in Singapore?
Our usual process will take 4 months from you paying the deposit to you arriving in Singapore to start your internship.

Is there a currency difference?
Yes, Singapore uses the Singapore dollar as its currency. It is currently S$1 to $0.70 or S$1 to £0.57. This is subject to change.

Eligibility Requirements
What are the eligibility requirements for an internship in Singapore?
To be eligible to intern in Singapore, you must be between the ages of 18 and 25, at the time of you intending to start your internship. In addition to this, you must be a graduate from a university in France, United Kingdom, the United States of America, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia or New Zealand. You must also be a full-time student, on-campus and must have studied in one of the above countries. You will not be eligible if you study in/ graduated from a satellite campus outside of one of the above-listed countries.

What if I’m a graduate from one of the countries listed, but I’m not from there?
If you have graduated from a university listed in the requirements, you are still eligible even if your home country is not listed. For example, if you are a Canadian national, but study in or graduated from a UK University, you will be eligible to participate in an internship in Singapore.

What if I’m not a graduate from one of the universities listed?
Unfortunately, you would not be eligible for an internship in Singapore. However, you may be eligible for our graduate internships in New York or graduate internships in London

What if I’m over the age of 25?
Unfortunately, you would not be eligible for an internship in Singapore. However, you may be eligible for our graduate internships in New York or graduate internships in London

How can I intern in Singapore?
The Singapore internship visa is otherwise known as a Work Holiday Pass program, this allows university students and graduates to work, holiday, and live in Singapore for up to 6 months. Once you have accepted an internship offer, we will help you with a Singapore internship visa so that you have the right visa to intern in Singapore.

What if I’m not a graduate, but would still like to intern in Singapore?
If you are not a graduate, you can still apply for this program if you are due to graduate in the next 18 months and wish to start your internship after graduation

Why isn’t the accommodation included in the program fee?
We find the majority of graduates prefer their own way of life and this also includes their housing. Therefore, we’ve partnered up with some great accommodation providers we trust, who will have everything you’re looking for and on an intern-friendly budget. 

How much does the program cost?
The Singapore program is £3,000 in total for 6 months. Take a look at the section on fees on this page to see all the inclusions and exclusions for the program. 

How do the payments work?
If you have successfully passed our Skype interview and have received an offer to join, you will need to pay a deposit of £450 to secure your place on the program. The remaining program fees of £2550 will be due once you have received an offer from the company that you wish to intern with. If you do require other payment options, please be sure to discuss this with our team during the interview.

Do you offer any financial assistance or scholarship?
For any internship program over 13 weeks, we offer a graduate scholarship. You can find out more information about the scholarship on our internship scholarship page.

What is the deposit refund policy?
If Capital Placement fails to find you an internship that you are happy with, we will refund your deposit in full. You can read more about our guarantee to you and the refund policy on our guarantees page.

About the Singapore Internship Program

Do I need a degree to be eligible for the graduate internships in Singapore?

Our graduate internships are designed for recent graduates and postgraduates. You can apply for our graduate program up to 18 months before your graduation date. However, you will need your degree certificate before you can start your internship in Singapore. If you would prefer to do an internship while at university, you can take a look at our short-term internship in Singapore

If you wish to do this program before graduating, please get in touch and we will consider your application on a case by case basis.

How does the Singapore internship process work?

Once you have successfully passed our interview and have joined the program, we will begin scheduling interviews with companies that fit your desired career goals. From here, you will interview with our chosen partner companies. When you have received your offer and have accepted it, we will begin working to get your in-principle approval for your Work Holiday Pass. When you have received this, you are ready to book your flights and start your internship in Singapore!

What is included in the Graduate Internships in Singapore?
We understand interning in Singapore is a big step and one that can be quite daunting to figure out. Therefore, we make sure to help you every step of the way. Our Singapore program will include a paid internship, Singapore internship visa sponsorship, visa assistance, regular social and cultural events, 24/7 emergency support, a dedicated advisor, and extensive resources. We will work with you to ensure you are ready for your Singapore internship.

What is not included in the program fee?
Airfare, airport drop off, sim card, daily transportation cost, food, personal expenses and your visa application fee are the main exclusions. Please note that the visa sponsorship fee (included) is different from your visa application fee (not included).

Do you provide flight tickets with the program?
The cost of your flight ticket is not included in the program fee, both to ensure flexibility in price and timing for you in your travels. If you would like, we are more than happy to assist you with finding and booking your flights in order to ensure that you find the best price and itinerary for your needs.

When is the deadline to apply?
Applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. However, we would recommend that you apply no later than 4 months from your desired start date. If you do not have a flexible schedule, we would recommend you apply as early as you can to ensure your desired start date is possible.

About Your Internship

Can I see a list of employers or choose to intern at a specific company?

Capital Placement partners with over 500 companies in Singapore, therefore, we do not have a static list of all our partner companies. During your interview with our placement team, we can talk to you about a few of the companies that may be beneficial to your career goals. If none of our current companies meets your criteria, we will partner with new companies that may be a better fit for you. Do I need to have any experience to get a paid internship in Singapore?
Although previous experience is highly desirable, it is not necessary.

How much am I getting paid?
You will receive between S$700 and S$2200. The amount will depend on your prior academic and work experience, as well as, your employer’s remuneration policy.

What kind of company will I be interning with?
There is no single answer that can be given to that question. It depends entirely on the strength of your CV, performance during the interview, industry preferences and other factors. The companies we work with range from start-ups to large multinationals. The one thing that they all have in common is that your internship with them will be both challenging and rewarding.

With all of Capital Placement’s programs, you are in complete control. If you successfully pass our Skype interview, we will further discuss a series of companies that may be a good fit for you. If you are not satisfied with the company’s you have been provided with, we can provide you with additional company options for you to choose from. Can I change the company once I start my internship?
Once you have started your internship, it is not possible to change the company you are working for.

When can I book my flights to Singapore?
We would recommend not buying your flight out until you have a valid offer from the company and the work holiday pass.

How long does the process take for an internship in Singapore?

Our process will usually take 3 months from you placing your deposit to arriving in Singapore.
