Public Relations (PR) internships involve developing creating press releases, executive biographies, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals. Duties may include responding to requests for an information release or a press conference. Interns may be given opportunities to work on public relations initiatives, or to create and manage PR campaigns. Interns will assist with identifying, developing and executing a communications strategy for key media contacts and customers.
Our PR internships requires technical and organisation skills, as well as knowledge of consumer marketing, graphic design and public relations principles. Interns will need to write press releases and run PR campaigns that deliver measurable results and meet the company’s objectives.
TASKS WITHIN PR INTERNSHIPS
Communications
Provide assistance establishing and maintaining relationships with consumer, community, employee and public interest groups. Prepare press releases and other media communications to promote clients, pitch stories to the media, prepare media kits and organize press conferences. Prepare and edit organizational publications, employee newsletters and/or marketing reports for internal and external audiences.
Event Management
Plan, organize and coordinate conferences, trade shows and press interviews.
Crisis Management
Prepare release information statements to counter negative publicity, and handle crisis and emergency communications for the company through social media.
Business Planning
Assist with preparing and analysing competitive communication. Work with manager and business units to determine event budget and manage expenses to that budget..
